Hey guys.

Was there ever a horror movie you watched as a kid (when you shouldn't have to) that scared you so bad, it haunted you for a long time? In my case it was the original A Nightmare on Elm Street. I got away with watching it when I was just 7 years old, and it messed me up so bad; I was literally scared to even looked at the actual VHS tape. I had trouble sleeping for weeks.

What is your favorite Disney animated movie?

Hey Rorie and Navarro.

I was thinking about the Oscars, and how they are usually predictable for all categories. Last year there was no way that that The King's Speech was not going to win for best picture, and Colin Firth for best actor. So what I would like to know is, what are some of the most surprising winners you guys can recall from the past decade or so, regardless of category?

Hey Gents

Just wondering what you guys think of Workaholics?
P.S. My last two questions i have submitted have been about Quantum Leap so feel free to talk about that some more I'd hate to brake the trend.

Hi!

What are your guys' favorite uses of slow motion? I could go on and list for hours, but one example that stands out, not even slow motion (just low shutter rate) is an entirely unecessary 2 second clip of Will Arnett and Forte jumping up and down out of glee in The Brothers' Solomon.

...Do you guys have opinions on that movie? Or Bob Odenkirk's directoral works in general?

We all know that animatronics and practical effects trump CGI when it comes to horror film effects, but what specifically do you hate the most about CGI effects?

I personally cannot stand the movement of computer animated things, it always seems too smooth and bone/muscle-less. Also CGI blood looks fucking retarded.

Hey guys,

I know this question would have worked better last week with the release of Footloose, but what is your favorite dance movie? Mine is easily Powell and Pressburger's The Red Shoes. The 20+ minute ballet sequence is one of the most beautiful things I've ever seen in a film.

Thanks, Kevin from Boulder

Greetings gentlemen,

Roger Ebert once said in his review for the movie Freeway "A movie is not about what it is about. It is about how it is about it". The indelible mark of the director is for some films unquestionable, however, there are others where the directors simply followed the script without adding too many, if any, personal touches. Which films do you feel then, are the best 'directed' movies? A movie where the personal vision of the director turned an otherwise lackluster script into a bona-fide gem. Conversely, which films do you feel had excellent scripts, but were mired by poor direction?

Thanks, Mauricio from New York City

Hey Alex and Matt,

How much does it bother you when an actress (or, hell, maybe even an actor) wears too much make-up in an inappropriate scene? Such as a scene where the person is supposed to be going to bed or after a shower.

Hey guys! At what point do you start to consider someone to be "box-office poison"? Your conversation a while back about Anna Faris's less than great movie career has me wondering if it's time to place her in "B.O.P" territory, of if there are other things to consider that would prevent that from being the case. Also, Alex mentioned that he would like to hear someone like Mastodon do a soundtrack, and I wanted to know if he was aware that they did the score for Jonah Hex? (It also featured a cameo from Brent Hinds)

How would you guys feel about Ridley Scott making an Assassin's Creed movie? I personally think it would be interesting to see what Scott could do with the series. Robin Hood wasn't great but Gladiator was so the guy obviously has the experience to do that kind of a movie.

Hey slick Matt and pardner Alex! Heat(1995) and the Wild Bunch(1969) are arguably the best in their respective genre, crime and western. The two movies also have the parallel storylines of a crew of outlaws vs. a crew of law enforcers, two rival leaders with similar professionalism, memorable action scenes, etc. I give the slight edge to Heat, even though I love The Wild Bunch, based solely on the number of memorable lines from Heat and Val Kilmer's ponytail. Despite your mutual love of both films, is there one that you prefer over the other? Remember, "Don't waste my motherfucking time!"(in Al Pacino outburst voice).

Dear Rorie and Alex,

I was watching The Crow for the first time and was taken aback by how outrageously 90s it was- the Nine Inch Nails-esque soundtrack, the skater punk teenage girl, the grunge rock concert in a warehouse, etc. Is there any movie you know which blatantly represents the time in which it was released that distracts from the actual film?

Danke schoen!

Dear Alex,

What is the best "Gunstringer" performance you've ever seen? You seemed to enjoy mine but I can't imagine I'm the best.

Repost:

Recently I have been watching and reading a lot of Sci-Fi. I think the thing I love most about Sci-Fi is the universe that is created. I find myself often caring more about the world the characters are in rather than the characters themselves. My question is what Sci-Fi universe would you want to live in and why? Mine would most likely be Star Wars because of all of the interesting technology and how easy space travel seems.

Some suggestions: Blade Runner, Avatar, Tron, Aliens, Matrix, X-Men.

Hey guys,

I've been replaying Mass Effect 1 and 2 in anticipation for ME3 next year, and that reminded me of the Mas Effect animated film. Is there any news about the state of that project, and what are your thoughts on the video game to animated movie movement (Halo Legends, Dead Space Downfall, etc.)? Keep up the great work!
