Hey Alex and Matt (and possible guest),

How much does it bother you when an actress (or, hell, maybe even an actor) wears too much make-up in an inappropriate scene? Such as a scene where the person is supposed to be going to bed or after a shower, and they are drenched in make-up. Can you name any stark examples of scenes that particularly annoyed you with the amount of obvious make-up on characters in scenes that made the make-up feel out of place and reminded you that you are watching actors?

What is your favorite fake sport depicted in a movie and are there any that you think should be made into actual televised sporting events? Love the podcast as well as everything your guys do for the site. Thanks and keep up the great job.

Personally I like the goofy ass space rugby that they play in Starship Troopers but only because Rico did a NFL Blitz style jump flip in the movie. If you guys have any trouble thinking of any I've started this concept page that will hopefully get filled out by the users before the next podcast goes live.

Does every generation go through a period where they consider most "new" movies to be vastly inferior to the ones they grew up with, or ones even older than that?

What are some directors who have entered the film industry in the past ten to fifteen years or so that you think will have a major influence on the film industry 25 years from now? Put more simply, what young directors now are the next Spielbergs, Scorceses, etc?

Hey Alex and Rorie! Just wanted to ask would you ever consider giving Doctor Who another try but starting from the start of the new stuff instead of halfway through season six ?

Hello. I just attended a History lecture about early modern Japanese military history. After the lecture in the Q & A, the professor stated that he first became interested in Japanese military history because of the savage, inhuman portrayals of Japanese soldiers in media. He said that except for Letters from Iwo Jima, most all films about the Pacific War theater have this tendency. In particular, he said that the Thin Red Line was a bad offender in this regard. Given that you like Terrence Mallick and that movie in particular, what is your response?

With the recent release of Modern Warfare 3 and complaints about how its the same, why don't we hear the same complaint about movies like Mission Impossible,James Bond or something. Conversely what films have manged to make drastic changes over the franchises life span and stay popular.

Hey there, your recent David Lynch talk got me thinking about directors that work with the same actors over and over again. Lynch had Kyle MacLachlan and Naomi Watts, Christopher Nolan has Christian Bale and Tom Hardy, Ridley Scott always has Russel Crowe at his disposal, and Joss Whedon commands legions of his buddies.

Do you guys find any director/actor relationships like this especially potent?

Jack and Jill was, not only one of the worst films that I've ever seen, but, as I was watching it, it raises so many questions about the kind of decision-making in Hollywood. Alex, what kinds of questions came to mind as you were watching the film? Also, how does Jack and Jill compare to the likes of Plan 9 From Outer Space, Troll 2 and The Room?
