Question for Rorie regarding princess Mononoke.

At the very end of the film, Ashitaka and San have a quick exchange of dialogue basically saying that they will go their separate ways now that the forest spirit has been restored etc. This shoots down the notion that they love each other and want to be together, they don't seem to be bothered in the slightest!

It's literally one or two spoken lines which pretty much sours the ending for me, where really it should have been left ambiguous. Does it bother you and do you think this choice is a cultural one? (i.e the Japanese audience doesn't expect them to get together).

If I'm not mistaken, the astronaut is/was inspired by Dave, because the name tag says U.S.S. Enemykite (one of his online aliases).

Given that it has been announced that Michael Bay will return to rape our eyeballs with another Transformers movie I got to thinking, what director could handle the franchise better? Basically what I am asking is what director do you think could raise Transformers out of the gutter?

Oh and 'yes' and 'any' are not valid responses.
