Ask 'em here! I didn't have time to do any on this week's podcast, so I don't want to go back to two week old questions next week in case they're stale!

Hey Screened crew, what do you guys think about the new My Little Pony show? I not sure you guys have said anything about it! Or do you guys not talk about shows kids unless you saw them when you were younger?

Hey Matt and Alex,

It seems to me that television is moving towards shorter seasons with (generally) higher production values and better received plots and characters, while traditional 22-episode television seems to be doing poorly overall with tired sitcoms and weak dramas. With Netflix and others getting into creating their own original programming there will be a greater emphasis of quality over quantity.Do you believe we are moving towards shorter television seasons of greater quality (i.e. The Walking Dead, Games of Thrones, much of HBO, Showtime, etc.) than traditional television provided?

Thanks a lot, and keep up the great work.

'Sup Matt and Alex,

Hypothetically, if you were locked in a sauna with both Max Von Sydow and Christopher Plummer, at the same time, would you be able to properly address each actor with their respective names? Properly naming them would grant you your freedom and a firm handshake from both thespians. Consider the following factors, both men have their present-2012 appearances; are dressed in a simple towel, are mute and there is no DNA testing equipment in the steam room.

Keep up the not-so-bad work and always be testing screening.

What are your favorite "guilty pleasure"/bad movies you've seen just because of that one actor you have a weird affection for?

For me, a lot of Christina Ricci movies.

Hey Matt and Alex,

I work as an IMAX projectionist and they are currently planning on converting to a digital setup. But they are also planning on keeping the 70MM projectors. I had thought that this was exclusively for The Dark Knight Rises but have been told that there will be other print films that will play after the conversion. My question is this, what directors do you think will insist on having their films played exclusively on IMAX print (as has already been the case for TDKR and MI4)?

Hey Matt & Alex,

Are guys planning on attending any film festivals this year? I really enjoyed the coverage that Matt did of SXSW and would love to see more.

It would seem that the Academy Awards are loosing viewers every year. What would you guys do to "save" the Oscars?

Have no idea if this has been asked before; but have you made independent films in the past, and what aspect of actual film 'making' do you think you'd personally have the most talent on? I ask this because seeing the GOTY behind the scenes stuff on GB makes me really interested in what the whiskey crew could do if they took the time to make some full on narrative film.

Hey Matt & Alex,

After watching The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo last weekend, I decided to go revisit David Fincher's previous work. I can honestly say that outside of Benjamin Button, I still enjoy all of his films. This includes the often forgotten The Game and Panic Room. How would you rate Fincher's catalog so far from Best to Worst and what do you think about his next film being a new version of 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea?

P.S. Would Seven ever be considered for a Besties?

Hi Matt and Alex!

Do either of you have favorite films that you had to watch multiple times to really get it?

Also, if so have you ever had to review a movie that you felt you needed to be seen multiple times for it to sink in? How do you review a movie like that? Do you make a judgement based on the first viewing for the sake of the audience that will read your review? Or is it a negative quality that justifies a lower score?

Hey,

So Screencats how much do you think experiences during movies can colour your opinion of the movie you're watching and how would this factor into a review? I just had a really great time watching Midnight in Paris sitting beside a guy who would react in cheerful groans to everything that happened; my friends and I found ourselves almost unable to contain our laughter. The movie itself was very good but I can't help but think this added an extra something to the movie going experience. (Also noticed you haven't seen Midnight In Paris which I'd think you guys, especially Rorie, would love.)

Thanks!

Hi Matt and Alex, while watching the latest remake rematch my mind kept coming back the same question: What the fuck happened to Tim Burton? A lot of his early work was inventive and refreshing, but then around the time of Planet of the Apes he fell into the trap of "dark re-imaginings" or stuff that was dark for the sake of being dark. Now he's even going back and remaking one of his own movies. What do you think of him as a director and do you think its possible for him to ever come close to the level of creativity he once exhibited?
