Screencast

You may have seen the Giant Bomb Chili Day stuff over on their site; they've been doing a team-building exercise or something post-GDC and moved most of the equipment up to Dave's house for some r-n-r. It should be back soon, though. I'm not sure what the situation is with recording podcasts without the mixer, but I'll see if we can get something working. Joey mentioned something about just hooking up mics into a camera and going from there into Garageband; hopefully we'll be able to figure something out tomorrow, but if we can't we might just have to wait for the equipment to get back into the office. Otherwise Alex and I will just try to record something over Skype. It might not be the highest-quality podcast ever, but hopefully it'll be suitable.

All I can do at this point is apologize again, which I know I have done a million times. I thought the record-Tuesday/post-Wednesday thing would be a fresh new start for getting the podcast up in a timely manner, but you know the old joke: "Want to make God laugh? Make a plan." Hopefully we'll get something recorded tomorrow, but we'll see what kind of technical limitations we're dealing with. Fun week this has been so far!

Edit: It looks like Joey will be heading out to SXSW with his wife tomorrow, so we'll likely just skip the podcast this week. Sorry for that. I'm beginning to believe that this thing really is cursed. If the equipment comes back and I can get Alex on the Skype line, we'll see what we can do.

I'm sure we can all wait for just another week or at least I can; I can't guarantee that the rest of the community will be as kind as I am.

It's just been one series of unfortunate events, but I appreciate your honesty and I can tell that you are trying to make things work.

That really sucks that they just boosted the mixer without thought of the other 3 podcast producing websites.

any chances for a rambling rorie in the interim (also, though it may seem pointless to most, would it be easy to get a audio only stream of those type of things?)

I think it was just a misunderstanding; no big deal, really. We're the only other website that records early in the week. There's probably enough stuff in the office to make it work, but I don't know much about setting it up.

Sorry about the Ramblin' Rorie delays; my webcam has been busted and I haven't gotten around to ordering a new one just yet. Since you reminded me, I'll two-day order one from Amazon and hopefully get it on Friday and record this weekend.

LMAO nah man its understanable. The audio editing shouldn't be that hard combinging and mixing 2 tracks right (I don't know how to do that stuff so FLAME me if im wrong).

I thought this was gonna be a post about how like GB trolls made some sorta cyber attack on screened...that would of been kinda worse awesome.

Meh, it's okay. Giant Bomb is the larger site with more staff, so it's understandable that they have priority.

I'm kind of curious if GB knows they keep getting blamed for a delay on this thing. Their scheduling hasn't changed since way before Screened came around, aside from a handful of oddities (such as this week).

Ah, well. It's been an unlucky streak that we're on, but no matter -- looking forward to it next week!
