What should we do with excess podcast questions?

By now you guys know that we don't generally get through all of the podcast questions that we receive. We record right before Giant Bomb goes into the podcast room, and there's usually a bit of time pressure to get out of the studio.

So, roll them up into Ramblin' Rorie? My only issue with that is that some of the questions are from non-subscribers. Or we could take the extras and maybe do some kind of weekly Q&A feature on the site? I hate that we don't have time to get to them all.

I think screened door questions should be on the regular podcasts so I'd get behind that. It doesn't have to be weekly or even regular, maybe just once you've got a decent amount like 15/20 that might last an hour or so and name it Behind the Screened Door (date): Q&A Edition. I'd number them like the regular podcasts too because the number is kind of useless apart from as a measure of how many times you've done it.

Either save them up for a Q&A thing (I'd imagine monthly would be more convenient than weekly for you guys) or record the occasional podcast with a longer period of time for questions, perhaps during a week of unremarkable releases and/or news.

Alternatively, you could screen (so to speak) the questions beforehand and only answer the best ones or ones you haven't been asked previously. I don't think the askers would begrudge some quality control.

If it's a really good question, you could spin that off into an entire one-off feature of its own, sort of like if the recent premium video had been hypothetically triggered by someone asking "what does Screened think of M. Night Shyamalan's filmography so far?"

Well, I think you should create a new video feature and... SHOVE 'EM UP YOUR BUTT.

Fuck 'em

I think you should either move those questions to Ramblin' Rorie or use another article feature for them.

A weekly text or quasi video/audio feature wouldn't be bad.

Send Alex the questions have him anserw them and throw up a puppy pic and have you anserw them. Or just make it a big text feature to throw on the weekends when yall don't post much. Maybe think of a way to get community interactions?!?!?!!?

This may sound harsh but honestly I would screen the questions, take the good ones and move on. It's about time and taking a few moments to find the good question would save more time then answering them all no matter what.

I'd like questions to be their own little mailbag thing. A video feature perhaps? If you guys don't wanna do all that editing for questions then audio would be the best method I think. Also a lot of the time the Screencast has a lot of talk on movies that I couldn't care less for. Usually though questions are much more interesting, at least to me.

To summarize: My suggestion is to do questions as an Audio feature like every couple weeks or however you guys feel.

Also, love Screened.com! Keep up the great work Alex, Rorie, and of course the video editor(s)?

I think you should hit the streets and ask them to the general public. "Rambling Rorie On The Loose"

Let them be. Writing a question good enough to be read should be a challenge. I don't want to share my precious air time with "POPCORN, THOUGHTS?" or "What transformers u think is best?".

I was exaggerating a bit maybe (Screened users are quite eloquent, if fact). But I still don't think you need to read them all.

Whatever you do with them, I'm cool with it.

I think integrating them into Ramblin' Rorie is a perfectly great idea! Since it's subscriber-only, you COULD just answer the subscriber questions (or you could answer the non-sub questions as an incentive for them to sign up! "Hear Ramblin' Rorie answer YOUR question for the low low price of $5!")

Cut 'em entirely. If they were good questions they would've made it onto the show, right? There's nothing wrong with not answering mediocre/bad questions when there are better ones out there.

You're an excess podcast question

as someone else said you need to screen and choose the best. choose questions that you guys have something to say about because sometimes the answers are extremely brief and are just "i don't know, sure"
