Hello Screened Community,
I looking for a solid drama to watch over the summer.  I got really into Rescue Me and I am about half-way through season 5, but I think I got pretty burnt out on it for now.  I've read some good things about The Wire and Breaking Bad.  I'm wondering if I can some input about these shows to help me decide.
Thanks

Breaking Bad is still going on and the premiere should only be a month or so away.  If you have no plans you could very easily catch up since Breaking Bad's seasons are typically 13 episodes or under.  I would also suggest Justified, The Shield, Sons of Anarchy, Fringe, The Sopranos, Homicide, and Nip/Tuck before they move out of Miami.

Also, the episodes are filled with great cliffhangers that make going through them all really easy. Last fall I went through all the episodes in like two weeks.

@not_a_bumblebee: Thanks for the additional suggestions.  I actually haven't seen any of those other shows.  I got into a lot of hour long dramas when I started University and surprisingly none of those were among them.  I guess I can quickly catch up on Breaking Bad and try out one of those other shows
.@nicorcano:  Thanks for the reply.  I love marathon viewings of shows when they have cliffhangers.

Rookie Blue is good, a fun cop show.
True Blood is awesome, gritty, dirty, sexy ... its got it all.

The Wire and Breaking Bad are both excellent. The Shield is also a work of genius.

The Wire would be a good summer choice, The Sopranos would also work, it's a little longer so will probably take up most of your summer. If I were recommending one I'd go The Wire, it doesn't have a bad season, and everything in it is there for a reason, very few scenes are wasted.

The Wire is five seasons of pure genius and hell of a lot better than just about anything else to ever grace the screen.

I'm going to try and catch up on Doctor Who, then try Twin Peaks for the first time. I also plan on finishing Spartacus.

I have been meaing to go back to Twin Peaks. The Killing just keeps reminding me of TP and I loved every minute of it all those years ago. Would love David Lynch to direct an episode of Dexter one time.
