Improving on the perfection of Mega Piranha will be a feat that will echo throughout the ages.
The film that comes out of this exercise in the dangers of democracy will come out some time next year as a two hour feature on the network.
Says Thomas Vitale, exec VP of programming and original movies:
"We constantly have fans e-mailing with compliments, complaints and questions about our movies, and this is a way of involving the fans in a new way. This is where entertainment is going and just the start of many more things of this nature for Syfy."
First thing to be voted on is the concept: 2010 apocalypse story, a Bermuda Triangle-set creature feature or a Roswell, N.M.-set alien movie.
I don't know if you're like me and go to bed every night giving thanks for the existence of the SyFy channel. The movies they produce and show are so consistently, amazingly bad, in the best way possible. Whether we're talking about Mansquito, about a man who is also a mosquito (and stars Parker Lewis himself, Corin Nemec), Sasquatch Mountain, about a mountain full of Sasquatches, Mega Shark Versus Giant Octopus, which is about a mega shark that fights a giant octopus and 80s pop star Debbie Gibson, or Mega Piranha, which is about mega piranhas fighting 80s pop star Tiffany, or any of the myriad other amazing films SyFy has produced, you can always bet on one thing. IT WILL BE TERRIBLE. And these were made with actual writers and directors!I can't wait to see what the hive mind of the internet comes up with. Given how low that bar is set, there's a chance this will be better than the usual fare.
