The concept of The Talking Dead disgust me

To be upfront I have not seen The Talking Dead and all this is based on commercials shown during The Walking Dead.

A post show is something you do after a sporting event or after a season of a cable based reality show competition like a Top Chef or Project Runway not after every episode of a cable series. I like The Walking Dead but does it really need a post show analysis after every episode? The show seems pretty straight-forward with very little subtext. It would be one thing if it was a heady drama like Breaking Bad, Boardwalk Empire, or Homeland. Hell even the other popular cable horror series American Horror Story: Asylum is more deserving of the post show treatment because of how fucking batshit insane it is. Seriously you got alien abductions, demon possession, Nazi-like human experiments, zombie creatures, and the season has just started. It makes the first "season" look like they spent all their time on a boring ass farm in comparison.

So I watched a few episodes of The Talking Dead and for the most part, it's pretty pointless. It doesn't even air right after The Walking Dead, as there's always an encore episode first. It always struck me odd that they had some random celebrity on talking about how much they love the show. I'd rather see the cast & crew on to discuss something if they were heavily featured in the episode. People tune into though, so go figure. I guess they always show a special clip at the very end for the next episode.

I am in complete agreement, The Talking Dead is just piggy-backing on a great show. The last time I saw this done was an after Jersey Shore show. And I'm all sure we can agree that was a mistake. Nobody needs to recap on a Zombie based show, In the end it just a show for celebrities to get some air time.

It's just obvious viewer spamming. "X" number of viewers watch Walking Dead and with some more WD content you have the potential for those same viewers to stay on and watch Talking Dead.

What AMC really needs are other shows to place before or after Walking Dead. Comic Book Men is a mostly harmless show that I'm sure benefits from being near it in the lineup.

@FinalDasa: Well Hell on Wheels debuted after The Walking Dead during season 2 and that first season is pretty great. Don't even get me started on Comic Book Men. I kind of hate AMC for putting that shit on there. Kevin Smith can eat a dick.

As someone who was a comic book collector in middle school through high school and still reads trade paperbacks I find Comic Book Men insulting. I've only seen two episodes and I don't think I've seen a more staged reality show ever made. Fans of comic books aren't dumb and can tell when those guys that had maybe one or two lines in Mallrats are clearly trying to "act" as opposed to seeming like they are unaware of the cameras and are constantly put into situations that are clearly staged. If the cast of the Jersey Shore or the Kardashians can do it then being in a Reality Show can't be too hard.

I admit my TV guilty pleasure is watching shows like Antiques Roadshow and Pawn Stars where people bring their shit in to be appraised and you get a brief history lesson about the object. Honestly a show where comic books and related paraphernalia is appraised seems like a great idea for one of those shows. Unfortunately Comic Book Men does not fill that niche and don't get me started on the fake podcast scenes.

I've never seen Talking Dead either, I assumed it was like a directors commentary type of show with fun facts about the filming, characters etc, but it seems its just piggybacking on the success of the actual show according to some, so I'm glad I've never wasted my time.

I stay away from it. Everytime I see that smug little shit during The Walking Dead, it's always after the scene where a very dramatic or shocking moment happens. Ruins the mood when he pops up to say shit like "Uh-oh! Looks like that man was brutally mauled by zombies! His screams will forever haunt your dreams and activated a gag relex everytime you look at a doorknob! Here's the hashtag! "#Nomnomnom, use it to follow us on Twitter!"

So Talking Dead has started doing this annoying thing where they appear to start the show and even go so far as to introduce the guest during the last commercial break of The Walking Dead. I only bring this up because I DVR the show to fast forward through the commercials and so I can watch Shameless. Anyway during the premier I thought the episode had ended early and I stopped and deleted it when I saw that Talking Dead faux intro thing. So FUCK YOU AMC and FUCK YOU CHRIS HARDWICK even though it probable wasn't your decision and you seem like a decent enough guy.

I have finally seen clips from the Talking Dead only because one of my favorite wrestlers CM Punk was the guest. The show is indeed very pointless and apparently CM Punk is a huge comic book nerd which is pretty cool.
