What To Watch: Fat Chef Is The Pinnacle of the Food Network and You'll Never Prove Me Wrong

This is, of course, the pinnacle of the Food Network. After the Paula Deen semi-scandal, it'll be interesting to see if the Food Network takes any kind of responsibility for the healthiness of the recipes that it puts out on its channel. They're making some kind of nod to the notion with Fat Chef, which premieres tonight at 10 PM.

Archer

FX 10 PM: "Cyril is promoted to field agent; Malory institutes a strict drug-testing policy." Oh man, a drug test! That's where they give you a bunch of drugs and let you pick your favorite, right? I'll take a mixture of ketamine and cocaine, please! Followed by Unsupervised at 10:30!

30 Rock

NBC 8 PM: This is a weird one: there's a new episode of 30 Rock at 8:00, a new episode of Parks and Rec at 8:30, and then ANOTHER new episode of 30 Rock at 9:00. That is a bizarre series of events that baffles the mind. I've never seen two new episodes of a show air on the same night but not be back-to-back before.

The Big Bang Theory

CBS 8 PM: "Penny and Leonard experiment with their new relationship; Raj forms a bond with his phone's virtual assistant." I wish I knew who Penny and Leonard were. I'm sure I would be enthralled by this new love if I did. Instead, I feel like Spider Jerusalem hitting himself in the crotch over and over again. Followed by a new episode of Rob, but forget I told you that.

The Firm

NBC 10 PM: I asked last week if anyone was watching this show still, and then NBC managed to rank in EIGHTH PLACE in the ratings with last week's airing of The Firm. Like, the other three networks beat it, as did MTV's Jersey Shore, Univision's Rosa De Guadalupe, A&E's Beyond Scared Straight, and a rerun of The Big Bang Theory on TBS. In other words, holy shit is nobody watching this show. As it is, though, NBC acquired the show; it isn't paying for its production, so it'll probably stick around for a while. But we won't be talking about it.

The Finder

Fox 9 PM: "A NASA scientist asks Walter for help finding a woman he met at a bar, using the red stiletto she left behind as the first clue; Willa exposes Leo's family secret." Did you know that I used to want to be an astronaut? Isn't it weird how most kids growing up nowadays are probably going to have no intimate connecton with spaceflight? And isn't that sad?

Yay! More Archer! <3

But seriously, last time, I noticed that Archer won in ratings immensly against Unsupervised. It was like a Pokemon fight with a high-leveled Excadrill against a way under-leveled Tangela.

Whoa whoa whoa. I've heard of wives, and I've heard of mothers, but not AT THE SAME TIME!

Being an astronaut is difficult, Rorie, so that's why there's less of them. Also because they don't get to go to space any more. I'd be okay if NASA spent its astronaut-training money on developing a functional Warp Drive for the time being.

I really would've thought the bottom would've fallen out (so to speak) on fat chefs and their creations after the Paula Deen thing. Maybe they could regain their lost credibility with a competitive show called "Diabeat This!"

So glad I still have Archer and 30 Rock to tide me over, but an hour of TV a week is definitely slim pickings. I didn't realise until recently how much of my TV watching time has been supplanted by Whiskey Media. I am okay with this.

Fat People Are A Thing: The Show

I'm barely enjoying The Big Bang Theory anymore but I feel compelled to watch it. 30 Rock has been killing it this season with the first 2 episodes alone. The 2 in one night thing is kind of odd but the first episode will likely be a follow-up to the cliffhanger last week and the second episode will be just a normal episode.

Kelsey Grammer is also on tonight's episode so it should be awesome.

Parks and Rec, and I'm actually watching The Finder. If any of you guys caught the backdoor pilot on Bones last year, it kind of had an Uncharted/Human Target vibe to it that I really liked. Of course with the casting changes, it seems a little neutered. But I'll hold on hope.
