What To Watch: I Don't Understand Why People Need To Watch Music On Television

You know what? I can't even argue that much against the fact that Martina McBride and Michael Bublé have holiday musical specials on TV tonight. McBride seems to do a bunch of charity work, and her special "A Home For The Holidays With Martina McBride" benefits adoption charities. Or, at least, I think it does; all I see when I google it is stuff about "raising awareness," so it's entirely possible that it's just another cash cow for CBS, which fucking loves exploiting country music. And Michael Buble seems like he has a pretty good sense of humor, so good on him for selling some records, I guess. Anyway, the McBride thing is on 8 PM on CBS, while Bublé pops up at 9 on NBC. Sure hope you didn't get home early for the holidays, because you know your aunt is going to be watching two hours of this stuff.

Apart from that, it's mostly reruns, although American Horror Story does have its season finale tonight. Has anyone been keeping up with it? Worth going back and checking out if I missed the whole thing?

American Horror Story

FX 10 PM: SEASON FINALE: "Constance schemes to raise Tate's baby as her own." All I know from seeing other people's babies is that, if someone wanted to raise one of mine, I'd probably let 'em. "See you in 18 years! Just send him back when he's ready to make money on his own," I'd say.

The X Factor

FOX 8 PM: SEASON FINALE PART 1. I don't know what a "season finale part 1" is. Either something's a finale or it's not.

Top Chef

BRAVO 10 PM: "Viewers twitter to direct the chefs in their dishes; the chefs get to pay homage to their teacher by creating a tribute dish in their honor." EVERYTHING MUST BE TWITTER NOW. I eagerly await audience participation at football games where we get to tweet who the MVP is and whether he really crossed the goal line on that close play.

Who's Still Standing?

NBC 8 PM: Remember when Who Wants To Be A Millionaire was on what seemed like every single night? Well, Who's Still Standing is going to be on for the rest of the week, every night, so we can all relive those memories together.

Nights like tonight are exactly why I hardly ever watch TV these days.

American Horror Story isn't for everyone, but my wife and I love it! Definitely worth checking out from the beginning in my opinion.

I have heard good things about American Horror Story, but I still haven't seen more than a trailer for it.

Rorie, you should give Horror Story a try. I wasn't impressed by the premiere. At least try up to episode 2 to see if you are interested, it gets better from there.

Buble is a Burnaby, BC guy. While I'm not a fan of his music, he's an awesome human being. He signed a one day contract with the Vancouver Canucks yesterday!
