What to Watch: Monday

1. How I Met Your Mother

8pm on CBS

Ted is living alone in his new apartment which leads Barney to try and entice him to go out every night. While this season has been a bit of a bore, some good Barney party action could help. Hopefully.

2. Eureka

9pm on SyFy

Season Premiere. The final season of the show begins airing tonight, and all the more sad that it still seems to be at the top of it's game creatively. Hopefully, it means the series can go out on the good note it deserves.

3. Castle

10pm on ABC

Adam Baldwin guest stars tonight, bringing the Firefly team back together which is exciting, even if it is only for a short time.

4. House M.D.

9pm on FOX

I know this season is really lacking in quality. I really miss Cuddy and Thirteen, and those two new characters are nothing short of annoying, but it was the realization that one of my favorites shows is very rapidly coming to an end that is going to make me watch it, if only for nostalgia factor.

5. Top Gear

8pm on BBC America

Reality TV: The premiere of Season 18 finally comes to BBC America tonight. I am not that much in to reality television, but Top Gear is the exception to that rule. The guys go to India to improve economic relations between Britain and India in a Mini, a Jaguar and Rolls–Royce Silver Shadow, no comments except I can't wait to see.

Man, is it the angle of the picture, or did Nathan Filion put on some massive weight?

The few episodes of eureka I saw were pretty great, I quite enjoyed that show. I began hating how i met.

I can recommend the Top Gear India special because its a master class in cocking about, which to me is the only reason I watch Top Gear. Sure I can appreciate the cars and see how happy Ryan Reynolds was when he found out he beat Tom Cruise's lap time in the reasonably priced car, but its the silly challengers and messing about I come for mainly.

House has gotten really boring, really fast. I actually marathon-ed season 1-7, and had a great time with it, but I've built up a backlog for 8 now. It's just not interesting. When I do watch, I'm usually alt-tabbing to my internet browser every 5 minutes.

Kinda sad, since I thought that the first episode in the prison was one of the best episodes of the series yet. It reminded me of when House was in a mental institution, a similarly great break from the now predictable and generally uninteresting case solving.

Yep. I haven't seen a lot of House, so I can't be too critical, but at the same time... I haven't seen a lot of House because once you've seen a few episodes, you don't really have to see too many more. You have the A story about some mystery ailment that's predictably (though mostly cleverly) solved at the end, and the B story where actual interesting things are happening with the characters. The times when they've gotten rid of the now-pointless A stuff (the mental institution times you mentioned, etc.) it's a wonderful show. Without that, it's a very well acted bore.
