Want to watch seven minutes about NBC's new "Glee for adults," otherwise known as Smash? Well, now you can! You probably don't, though. Either way, the show premieres tonight at 10, and appears to have a storyline with a young upstart singer taking the role of an established diva. I liked it better when that was the plot of every musical film ever.

Anyway, as it's Sweeps month, pretty much everything is brand new tonight. I neglected to put The Voice or The Bachelor on the list below, because fuck those shows, but I did honestly forget pretty much everything from CBS, which has new episodes of How I Met Your Mother, 2 Broke Girls, Two and a Half Men, Mike & Molly, and Hawaii Five-0. There's also a new episode of Castle on ABC. I apologize for the error and am pretty sure it'll happen again. Probably rather often.

Smash

NBC 10 PM: SERIES PREMIERE "Successful writers Julia and Tom team up with producer Eileen to create a Broadway musical based on the life of Marilyn Monroe; Ivy, a seasoned chorus singer, competes with a new actress, Karen, for the starring role." Does the plucky upstart win? Gosh, I wonder.

Hoarders

A&E 9 PM: "A woman who lives in a million-dollar neighborhood sifts through trash bins; authorities warn a couple that they must clean their cobweb-infested, filthy home." Hell, I sift through trash bins all the time! Someday I'll impress that barista with all my knowledge of her personal life.

House M.D.

FOX 8 PM: "Dr. Walter Cofield (Jeffrey Wright), Foreman's former mentor, places House and the team under review after a violent incident involving a patient." Jeffrey Wright is one of those guys that I just kinda like, without really knowing why. That's all I have to say about that.

Alcatraz

FOX 9 PM: "An Alcatraz guard, Guy Hastings, reappears and runs into an old acquaintance." So now the guards are coming back? Are they going to be crazy and evil too? If not, how do you prevent them from running to the press and talking about how they time travelled?

Intervention

A&E 10 PM: "A neglected child becomes a troubled adult; a rapper would rather do drugs than drop rhymes." That last line sounds like something a particularly unhip voice-over announcer would say in a 70's commercial about not doing drugs, probably following it up with something like "Do YOU want to wind up like Pantee Drops?"

Being Human

SyFy 9 PM: "Aidan tries not to go back to his old lifestyle; Josh meets a brother and sister werewolf; Sally connects with an old friend." Followed by a new episode of Lost Girl at 10.

Speaking of Being Human, the original BBC version of Being Human begins it's 4th season at the end of February; Saturday the 25th. It will air in the US on BBC America on that date (source). I think it began airing on BBC 3 in the UK last month.

As for tonight, there is a new Adventure Time on at 7:30 and a fresh Regular Show at 8 on Cartoon Network.

I caught up on Being Human on Netflix streaming over the last couple of weeks and I am surprised to say that it is definitely ok. Not great, but not terrible either.

Smash was pretty decent when I saw the preview premiere a while back. I guess the Glee for adults comparison is apt but at least now if I don't want to listen to people singing covers, there is a decent story to follow unlike Glee.

@JayCee: Watch the UK version, and your opinion of the US version will fall. Well...maybe not...but I think so. :)

I've seen the commercial for Smash enough to want the series cancelled right now.

I just picked up Rage for PS3, new, for $20. This is what gamers need to understand; patience. All games get marked down severely about 2 or 3 months after release. It's so much better than buying used; Gamestop doesn't get my money, id and Bethesda do.

So yeah, I'll be playing Rage. After checking out Adventure Time and Regular Show, of course. There's also WWE Raw on tonight.

$20 is not profitable, Bethesda and id get none of that money because they already have what the stores fronted for SKUs, and by now you're basically paying a glorified stocking fee. You're a bottom-feeder just like people who wait for games to be cheap and used. You're not better than anyone. Get over it.

Anyways, no good TV on as far as I can tell, which is why I'm on a computer.

Smash is great and Alcatraz is very good as is Being Human. I'm an episode behind on both of the latter though.

Can someone please tell me who Katharine McPhee reminds me of? I'm almost positive it's a Hollywood actress, but I could be wrong. Specifically, in the ad they kept playing, this shot is the one that immediately made me think "She looks just like somebody else":

March 1st is the premier. So...that's a while away. Time to catch up on all the "classic" TV I've yet to see! Twin Peaks, here I come.
