It’s another boring-ass night of television, as the networks have apparently ceded all entertainment this summer to your local multiplexes. Everything’s basically a repeat, save for a two-hour episode of So You Think You Can Dance at 8 PM on FOX. More auditions of people who supposedly can dance. I have my doubts.
Far bigger news is the first game of Lord Stanley’s Finals on NBC, starting at 8 PM on the east coast and presumably 5 PM out West. It’s the Bruins and the Canucks in what is not only a U.S. - Canada competition, but also an east coast/west coast clash. Should be fun, although as per usual I have to pretend as though I’m not a little stung that my Capitals aren’t playing for the gold...er, silver. Or whatever the Stanley Cup is made out of.
In cable-land, there’s a new episode of South Park on Comedy Central at 10, and the MythBusters guys test to see if one of them can dodge a bullet. Presumably they’re putting the rigorously-studied science of Remo Williams to the test. The 25th season of Real World wraps up at 10 PM on MTV, as the roommates say goodbye to Las Vegas. Paris Hilton refuses to die, as she premieres a new series at 10 on Oxygen network: The World According To Paris. There’s a new Man Vs. Food spinoff at 9 on the Travel channel, as Man V. Food Nation has Adam Richman traveling around the nation and watching other people engage in crazy food-eating challenges. That is a hoot and a half, I tell you what.
