In no particular order

Buffy

Arrested Development

Angel

Six Feet Under

West Wing

But 5 is too few so I'll just add: Futurama, LOST, Seinfeld, Friends, Breaking Bad, Frasier, Pushing Daisies, Old Christine, Sports Night.

Even cutting it down that far was hard.

Apparently Bret and Jemaine didn't want the show on anymore. Too much stress.

  • Lost - It just pushes all of my buttons. Love the crazy mythology, love the twists. Most lovable characters of any show I've ever seen. And the heavy serialization has spoiled me to the point where I have a hard time getting invested in shows with mostly procedural storylines (see early Fringe)
  • Breaking Bad - It does everything well. Acting, writing, directing, atmosphere, characters, and cinematography are all top-class. And it's the most intensity you'll ever get from a TV show.
  • The West Wing - The Aaron Sorkin years of course being the best. The writing is just so damn good. I can think of about a dozen moments where I wanted to pump my fists in the air because how awesome what was happening was. At its peak the characters are almost unbeatable. Plus, it brought us "Two Cathedrals", unequivocally one of the very best episodes of TV ever made.
  • Mad Men - No show other than maybe The Wire is so ripe for analysis as Mad Men. I went through most of the first season just enjoying the characters and basking in the atmosphere, but near the end of the season I started to realize that every inch of the show is meaningful, and the more you put into it the more you get out of it. From then on it quickly became one of my favorite shows. "The Suitcase" is a masterpiece.
  • Arrested Development - My favorite comedy ever made, TV or film. The only other things that come close are Seinfeld, The Office (Seasons 2-3), and Parks and Recreation.
For the record, I haven't seen Sopranos, Deadwood, or Curb Your Enthusiasm, all of which seem like they could be potential favorite when I get around to seeing them.

  • Reaper - A show that I wish got a third season but got cut way before it was ready. I loved the characters, story, Ray Wise and Tyler Labine.
  • Supernatural - It should've been canceled 2 years ago after the 5th season but its still some of the best television right now.
  • Breaking Bad - When I first heard all the hype 3 years ago, I shrugged it off because I thought it was just another self-serious HBO-esque show. But damn do I love the dialogue, story, and characters.
  • Sealab 2021 - God I love this show. Captain Murphy is my profile pic and my gamertag is named after a character from the show, Stormy Waters. Only show I've ever watched more than 5 times.
  • The last is a real toughy for me...It could be Parks and Recreation, Fringe, Friday Night Lights, Firefly or Arrested Development. It's really just too close to call.

Shows I'm not a huge fan of (I know I will get some shit for these)

  • Battlestar Galactica - The story was rubbish and way too convoluted for my tastes. I didn't care about the characters. I had too force myself to keep watching it so I could without a doubt say I don't like this series.
  • Deadwood - The dialogue is, at times, too hard to follow. Sometimes I wondered where the hell this show was going. Not to mention, I didn't really know who to like.
  • Star Trek: TNG - I find that it relies too heavily on the story/monster of the week format with no real overarching storyline. Sometimes it's like they forget what happen in the last episode like it doesn't exist. At least Star Trek Voyager has the whole we may die alone in uncharted space thing going for it.
