Adam Sandler is Destroying Your Childhood!!

A few months ago, there was the news that Sandler and his Happy Madison company--which has created such critical darlings as Grown Ups and Bucky Larson: Born to be a Star--was going to make a Candy Land movie. That isn't all, apparently. Hasbro, undaunted by the poor performance of Battleship, has contracted Happy Madison to make a movie out of the Tonka Trucks. I think it is safe to assume both movies will be terrible. Also, everyone's childhood has just been raped.

This doesn't bother me. It's not like candy land is a sacred part of my childhood, nor do I have an "ideal" director for a candy land movie in mind. See how ridiculous that sounds even typing out?

Bullshit! The epic narrative scope and subtle symbolism of Candy Land is just too great to transfer well into a movie.

Oh wait, I meant to say... I don't care. Just another movie that I'll never see.

Never heard of Candy Land, but I don't want to ever see Adam Sandler play Tonka Joe. Also, I fully support the more restrained use of the exclamation marks in the forums thread!

A truck film? I know where this is going. Hasbro is going to be doing a film franchise via Avengers style. The next film after the Tonka movie will an airplane/jet based movie. Then they will tie all the movies into a human versus alien movie called Risk.

@skidd: yup, only two this time.

WHY!?

I'm at a loss for words. I just hope they cost a fortune to make and bomb in the box office.

Neither idea sounds good at all for a movie, especially if it's being handled by Adam Sandler and The Happy Madison Gang.

They should get Ang Lee to direct Candyland, and call it Brokeback Gumdrop Mountain.

I really thought the touching but flawed film Funny People was going to be a turning point for Adam Sandler's career.   Instead he looked at the fake trailers and movie posters Judd Apatow and his crew made for Sandler's self-parody character George Simmons and thought those are fucking brilliant ideas.

Edit: Tonka already raped everyone's childhood when they went to plastic instead of hand slicing metal.

Shouldn't that be Candy Land movie? Either way, this is terrible news, but Adam Sandler making horrible movies does not surprise me, unfortunately.
