It looks like Zach Galifianakis and Will Ferrell will finally be teaming up for a feature film. They’re both attached to star in an untitled political comedy about rival candidates that has Jay Roach, best known for Meet the Parents and the Austin Powers series, on board to direct. Warner Bros. bought the idea off of a pitch and the script will be penned by Chris Henchy ( The Other Guys) and Shawn Harwell ( Eastbound & Down).

I really can’t think of an actor who’s been hotter than Galifianakis the past couple of years. Ever since The Hangover his career has skyrocketed. It seems like he’s attached to everything these days, which is extremely smart on his part. You have to ride it while you’re hot.

I've got to say it's about time both of these guys shared some screen time. They've both been doing work for Funny or Die, but this is their first real project together. I think their styles blend together nicely, which should lead to some pretty good chemistry throughout the film. We also can’t forget about Ferrell’s run as President Bush on SNL. He absolutely nailed that role which bodes well for his ability to play another politician alongside Galifianakis. I'm pretty sure this one's going to be an absolutely ridiculous political satire. And, on that note, I leave you with this clip. Enjoy.

I'm a real sucker for political satire, so this is definitely on my radar now. When Galifianakis lit up that joint on Real Time with Bill Maher I knew he would do a political film at some point.

Wow! That is a like a perfect storm of unfunny.

Call me a hater but I can't stand either of those guys.

I think they're both hilarious, I'll be eagerly awaiting this one.

@CashBailey: Agreed. There are a couple Farrell movies I enjoy, but for the most part I find his characters annoying and completely unfunny and I quite simply don't like Galifanakis in anything. I think I'd rather watch Robin William's Man of the Year if I want to see horribly done unfunny political movie, at least Williams I can stand.

@Derangel: I'm excited about this film solely for the political aspect. Ferrell plays the same character in virtually all of his films and Galifianakis is going down the same path.

I like them both enough but I'm not a huge fan, some of their stuff can be great. However it's almost impossible to do a comedy well which doesn't have a straight man and I can't see either of them willing to be that and sacrifice their own comedy. I guess it will either be very special or more likely, average. Who wants another Step Brothers?

I really wish Ferrell would do something a little more serious in the veins of Stranger Than Fiction.

OH BOY!  Once again we can get a hilarious and heartfelt tale about how evil conservatives are and how the liberal politician overcomes.  Anyone who thinks it won't be something like this has not seen anything political that these two have ever done, especially on "funny" or die's website.

Which one of them played 'the liberal politican who overcomes' last time?
