the hunger games was the only one i think you forgot

John Carter is an two time Oscar Winning filmmaker, making his live action debuts , if Brad Bird taught us anything, it's that animators can also be skilled with live action. I sure reviews will be great, and idiots don't comparing it to attack of the clones, it's its grand-dada.

Really? Considering it's director.
I checked the wiki page to see who you meant and certainly, I'm not going to pretend that that isn't a pedigree (even though I consider all three of those films to be on the bottom half of my favorite Pixar movies), but just because Brad Bird successfully transitioned to live-action filmmaking doesn't mean this guy will. Also, regardless of whatever pedigree is presented, the marketing for John Carter is nothing short of really, really bad. To me, it just seems like the most generic action hero movie containing cg aliens one could possibly fathom in a family-friendly context. But perhaps that is the marketing and the movie will actually be alright. We'll have to see either way.
I don't care if I'm the only one looking forward to having a good time with Battleship. Movie looks fucking ridiculous. Looks like a better Transformers, with out stupid talking robots and gratingly bad acting. I'm sure the acting won't be astounding, but it has to be better than in Transformers. Let's be honest, Transformers would be awesome if it weren't for all the other terrible garbage that surrounds giant robots beating the shit out of each other. Battleship looks like a step in the right direction.
John Carter's pitch must have been "Braveheart vs Star Wars vs Dune"
John Carter looks awesome, but fuck yes is Disney doing a terrible job of marketing it. It looks like ...I dunno, some sort of Native American legend or something, especially without the "of Mars" anywhere in the title. Heck, they don't even say "from the author of Tarzan" anymore. It's such a non-brand; the only reason I know about it is because I've been following the movies for the past decade now.
Still, Avatar was advertised badly (and was a terrible movie), but once it came out it did alright. Who the fuck knows what middle America will respond to these days? At least John Carter will be awesome, which is more than can be said for Jim Cameron's derivative, forgettable, over-hyped 3D mess about stupid looking blue cat people.
I dno how you guys are saying that John carter movie won't be terrible...I mean it really is as linear as it gets. Weird race of people are fighting a war, some hero shows up because he is special and wins the war for them... and before the last battle he gets with the girl.
