Both movies are about a secret service agent protecting the president in a Die Hard-esque situation where someone is bombing the White House. They even have pretty much the same name.

Sony is funding White House Down from a screenplay by James Vanderbilt, who did Zodiac and the upcoming The Amazing Spider-man. Roland Emmerich is directing and Channing Tatum will star. Jamie Foxx is being courted for the role of the president. Millennium Films is making Olympus has Fallen from two first-time screenwriters, but hasn't found a distributor yet. Antoine Fuqua, who did Training Day, will direct and Gerard Butler will star. Aaron Eckhart has signed on for the role of president in the movie.

Thats pretty cool I'm digging the acting talent in Olympus but am a little iffy on it being two new comers that are writing the script

You forgot the exclamation point! It is not an official ViolentEyedDragon thread till there is an exclamation point in the title. Obviously this person is an impostor.

If only Screened hadn't crashed and burned, then we could have gotten a Sidegrades feature out of it.

I think it might actually be a good sign. An experienced, renowned writer like Vanderbilt can get ANYTHING to be made into a movie; these two must of had to work for it.

actually, I used all caps on the movie titles because you can't have exclamation points in the title.
