Wow, this trailer was great! I thought this film was still in pre-production before seeing the trailer, but now I've seen the trailer for a film I originally thought was going suck, I'm really hyped. The gore effects are really good (that tongue slicing scene was really effective), and seeing that the tree-raping scene is gonna be here too, I can tell this film is going for a really disturbing tone.

Eh. No thanks. I don't have a problem with Ash being a lady or anything like that, but the originals were campy and funny and the gore was something you could laugh along with, it wasn't disturbing. This new take on it...yeah not for me.

The original film wasn't really campy (at the time), and contains no humor at all. After seeing Bruce Campbell's interview at the NYC Comic Con, I'm fully on board for this. The trailer is fantastic, and for the most part, it looks faithful enough to the original, and extremely gory. Throw in the fact that there is supposedly no CGI effects in this movie, this should be solid. Also, Diablo Cody was brought on to help with some aspects of the script, but she did re-writes. She's not fully responsible for the script of this.

That's true, the campiness came from the practical effects I guess. I dunno, I guess I like the series more for what it became then what it started out as. I'm not saying this is gonna be garbage, just isn't for me.

The first one is good but the sequels were awful.
