Who here enjoyed Stranger Than Fiction? It looks like they've done some variation of the same movie for us to enjoy all over again.. The good news is I do like Paul Dano (There Will Be Blood, Little Miss Sunshine) I'm also a fan of Jonathan Dayton, who directed Sunshine and Ruby Sparks. Deborah Ann Woll is just really cool looking and then there's Antonio Banderas, Annette Bening and Elliott Gould. I'll see it, and I'm sure I'll like it.

Hmm. I dig it. Seems a little too cutesy for a concept that could easily go into some pretty dark places. Although the cast is comprised of some great dramatic actors, so it could easily have a more serious tone than the trailer leads on.

Think was really sold me was that half second of long-haired Steve Coogan.

(gotta say, also, that this really doesn't remind me of Stranger than Fiction at all)

Looks fine, I guess.

Also, the girl that plays Ruby is too damn cute for her own good.

really? Both films have literary characters that are created and actually brought to life by the author. I get what you're saying about it feeling different though... I guess it's primarily that one shot of him at the typewriter creating the plot in the moment... I just immediately saw Karen Eiffel (Emma Thompson) typing "and the phone rang" ...then the phone rings

@Mackwahl: You're definitely right about those specific similarities, it's just that the tone and I guess the apparent point of the two films that seem totally different. Also, the trope of writing coming to life is a pretty old one in film and TV, which makes any connection between these two seem way more indirect.

But still, as you said; they type, "she speaks French", then she speaks French. I guess you kinda need that scene in any of these stories, though. ;)

Where's the Deborah Ann Woll I was promised?! She's not the one playing Ruby.
