So the notion here is if you believe in something it becomes real... interesting. Somehow I'm not feeling my usual total cheese factor that I normally get from horror films like this one. Although wait a minute "Once you believe it's real, you die" ...? Why aren't they all dead then? They clearly believe it's real. Hm this one's a thinker. Or did I just find the cheese?

P.S. why is it totally normal for girls in horror films to be half dressed for most of the film. I don't know many girls who regularly walk around in their underwear while everyone else is fully dressed. Am I just hangin' in the wrong crowds?

Because girls in bikinis are awesome? Whatever. We don't need a reason.

An interesting idea... too bad that doesn't mean a darn thing when it comes to how well the movie is made.

Evil is only there because we believe it to be there. Interesting idea for a horror movie...to bad it just goes into typical ghost movie mode.

Because Ashley Greene.

I'd assumed this had already been released - it feels like it's been kicking around for a while. Anyone know if it was being held back for a while?

Seems like a really generic horror movie. More so than most as it looks as though they are using the versitility of the premise to rip off every other film about anything supernatural. I saw scenes and framing devices straight out of Ringu, Pulse, Boogeyman, Poltergeist and Paranormal Activity in there. Seems like somebody came up with the ultimate way to have no actual ideas. If you believe in it then it's real. That means they can explain away absolutely anything. Though I will definitley end up watching this as I like horror movies, even lazy ones.

it was originally scheduled for a US release on September 9, 2011. I think it was rescheduled simply because production and post-production took longer than expected.

So basically its a re-imagining of a concept first thought of in the Nightmare on Elm Street films where you can't fall asleep or Freddy will get you......this time its just that if you believe in the Apparition it will get you. Interesting idea and I always enjoy a return to old school horror vice straight up cringe factor gore like Saw or The Hills Have Eyes.

They sure have a hell of an imagination if they can just make a ghost with their minds.

@VioletEyedDragon: And the images in our wiki gallery have been there since 2010. Sounds like, as you say, there must have been some form of complication that caused the delay. Given the time from the original release of info and pictures, I'm a little surprised they didn't just go ahead and put this out direct to DVD already.

I think if they market it right it could make decent money theatrically. Also, any income from theaters means more DVD sales later on.

Don't forget The Grudge, Secret Window, and REC!

It really sucks that this looks so generic. It's a great concept, and blows the door open for an actually scary Cabin in the Woods-type thing, where they can just go nuts mixing genres and concepts to create something new and interesting. This trailer though just seems like a clip show.

Also, when the girl from Ringu is crawling out of a TV, it's creepy. Crawling out of a fucking washing machine... not so much.
