Ah, the lavish life of the 1920's. What a beautiful looking film. While it is seriously visually stunning, is it just me or does it seem like the trailer might not have done this film justice? I still think The Great Gatsby's going to be great, but this trailer left me wanting more and I don't mean that in a good way. Hm...

The CGI doesn't look great and I don't remember there being any Kanye on Long Island in the 20s. But then again, I wasn't there

I read the book one summer and it was good.

I generally don't like Baz Luhrmanns movies but if there was someone I'd want to give me a hyper stylized version of 1920's NY it would be him.

Tobey Maguire could go either way in this one. He could do the doe eyed optimisim thing really well but at the same time it's Tobey Maguire. Also good on Joel Edgerton getting into more prestige y type projects.

UGH! Tobey Maguire.......the guy who killed Spider-Man.

I think what takes away from this trailer is that Tobey's narration seems completely emotionless and detached. How can I care about a movie when one of the characters doesn't?

Wow...that looks amazing. The period-setting and the style are incredible. It looks mezmerizing. I will say that I am looking forward to Tobey, he seems so bored all the time,.

Anyone else think the trailer looked really blurry? I'm not sure what to think of the film. It looks like it could be really interesting. Then again, it takes me back to freshman year of high school, so maybe it's not so good. :)

I'm certainly not a Baz Luhrmann fan, and having recently read the book, I wasn't expecting this over-the-top look that the film's going for, but then again, I probably should've expected that from Baz Luhrmann. Nonetheless, it looks okay, but I really hope that it doesn't go into Romeo and Juliet territory, in terms of how batshit insane and stupid the characters act. I also hope that the modern-day music that they used doesn't appear in the film, when a film's set in the 20s Jazz era, I expect to hear 20s Jazz music.
