What an ass load of poo! It's the AVGN movie trailer!

I can't believe this is a real thing and that judging by the trailer it is ten times worse then I could imagine. I admit I enjoyed the AVGN but a year and a half ago I kinda got bored with his schtick along with his contemporaries like The Nostalgia Critic, Zero Punctuation, The Spoony Experiment (who apparently went insane earlier this year according to my friend), and the hundreds of other internet critics that yell and use obscenities in creative ways in their negative reviews. It just seems like this movie is coming out at the tail end of the internet critic fad and judging by the trailer it will only appeal to the most die hard of AVGN fans.

So what do you think of the trailer? Let's Plays seem to be taking the place of Internet Critics, do you think there will be a Let's Play movie?

Um.... that's some straight-to-video Sci-Fi channel shit. It's like he's in a movie the Nostalgia Critic would review. It does look pretty bad... but I'll probably watch it anyway; I love the AVGN.

I never liked some of the crazy production things he did within his videos, and that his strength was his knowledge of video games and ability to go through even some of the most obscure games and give them some value, even when they were horrible.

This looks fine though. If his fans like it then it's awesome a guy can go from videos about games to his own movie. I'd rather watch this than the Fred Movie.

Spoony's been insane for the longest time, it just got to crazy scales earlier this year.

This whole weird internet reviewers who got a big enough fanbase to put stories in their reviews and now are making full on films thing is odd. On the one hand, I approve, because go them for making that happen, but on the other hand, it straight up looks bad. It's one thing to be able to write awesome jokes and rants about games/films that are shit, and it's another entirely to write a good film story - even, nay, especially if the concept is so farcical.

Looks good. For a low budget film the special effects look quite impressive.

As far as I'm concerned James Rolfe is a genius.

Can't wait for the Jenna Marbles movie.

I've never really liked AVGN so I can't say I'm interested in a movie, but it at least looks dumb in a way I could almost get behind. That's as close to a compliment as it'll get from me.

Also, I find Zero Punctuation much more entertaining than the Nerd and his dopplegangers. The Zero Punctuation guy is cynical, for sure, but I think the guy has a much better way with words and the stick-man cartoon thing he does is kind of fun. I don't really watch Zero Punctuation videos often, but I'll check them out occasionally. I'll watch that over a dude yelling and swearing at a camera any day. I guess that's just my preference, though.

The internet's weird.

The problem is a lot of people are fans of the AVGN character, but a lot of people don't care for James Rolfe the movie buff. He not only has expansive knowledge on videogames, but on movies as well. I have faith that this movie will be terribly awesome, either way it will be a movie made by someone with an extreme love of film and videogames as a medium and hopefully will embody that successfully

I have the opposite opinion. I like James Rolfe the knowledgeable dude that knows the history of shitty video games and loves cheesy monster movies. I hate when he does little skits like beating the shit out of Bugs Bunny as the AVGN. I've had awhile to reflect on the trailer and I kind of got a Tim and Eric vibe that makes me want to give this movie a chance.

And that's the thing, while i am someone who enjoys both side, there are a lot of people that only like the one side of him. He is essentially trying to bring the two together, which might not be too successful. But you at least have to give him credit for trying! It makes me mad when I see comments like "No one gives a shit about your movies or when you aren't AVGN just go make more episodes" or when they compare him to the "Fred" movies, I have a lot more faith in him then that, I know its going to be horrible but I think im going to be loving every second of it and i think that's the point. He wasn't trying to make some big-budget hollywood movie, but instead carrying out his dreams of making a full-length film
