I know that as of late (and especially after Dark Shadows) we have all become a little skeptical about Tim Burton's work and wondered what has happened to the director that at one time was so very great. Well, here is to hoping that he will finally return to fine form with Frankenweenie.
Trailer 2 for the film was released today and we get a bit more of a glimpse in to the story. After Victor brings his dog Sparky back from the dead, word gets out and so do other monsters. I think we were all curious how this short would turn in to feature length and now we know he fleshes out the world; with a tribute to some classic movie monsters such as Franksenstein and Godzilla, and it looks like in a pretty creative way. We also get the sense there will be a "mob going after the sweet, mis-understood creature" storyline, which harkens bak to Burton's good ol' days of Edward Scissorhands. We know he can do that well, so I'm willing to give him another chance. Who's with me?
