Plot

 It's been 5 years since Tommy Jarvis killed Jason, who's mind has been unstable ever since then. He is sent to the Pinehurst halfway house run by Dr. Matthew Letter to help cope with his mental condition and hallucinations. Tommy is revealed to be having nightmares of Jason returning to kill again and shortly after his arrival to Pinehurst, Vic kills another patient, Joey, by hacking him up with an axe. 
 
Police and paramedics arrive, arresting Vic for murder. As the paramedics, Roy and Duke, are cleaning up the mess, jokes are made by Duke as to how grisly the scene looked, angering Roy. Shortly after, people are murdered by a hockey masking wearing killer. The killer chases Pam and Reggie into the Hubbard barn where Tommy eventually shows up and fights the killer. Tommy knocks him out a window, but grabs onto the ledge and tries to pull down Reggie. Tommy slices the killer's hand causing him to fall onto the spikes of a tractor harrow. The killer's mask falls and it is revealed to by Roy, the paramedic. It is revealed that Joey was Roy's son and was avenging his death by using Jason's look and M.O. as a cover up.
 
Later, Tommy has a nightmare where he attacks Pam. He puts on Roy's hockey mask and prepares to attack Pam, giving the false impression that he will become the new killer.
