Character naming debacle

Well, now I'm confused. Last week, HBO released some character profile videos through Xfinity/Comcast, and I noticed they had different spellings for Jaime Lannister (Jamie) and Robb Stark (Rob). I had heard this was going to happen, to make the names more familiar for TV, so I figured this was confirmation, and had the page names changed here. Now, this weekend, HBO put the videos up on HBO.com itself, along with an entire cast page. Imagine my surprise when that page and the videos for Jaime and Robb listed the correct book spellings instead. You can see it here, in the original Jaime video, and the new video from this weekend:

I know this is a pretty silly thing to get riled up about, but I'm totally confused now...I guess the best thing to do is to wait for April 17th and see what it says in the credits. Silly HBO...

I think it's an understandable thing for you to be frustrated by.  It's be nice if they could pick a spelling and stick with it. I agree with you that the best thing for you to do is just wait for the credits when the show actually airs.

@pat4327: Thanks! Yeah, lessons learned I guess.

Wow, that would really bother me as well. Not sure who dropped the ball on that. I just hope it gets corrected in the credits

Debacle sounds like a bit of an overstatement. This reminds me of the episode of Party Down where a scifi novelist is getting a screen adaptation and they go through 4 minutes of the guy explaining how loyal the movie will be with mad nerdy subsubsubplot details, then he says something about one character being CGI and the author flips out and the movie doesn't happen.

@Demyx: That's all we can ask for...

@ryanwho: I've had Party Down sitting in my Netfilx queue for months...I need to get on that!
