Question about Pycelle

Let me say first that I just watched the entire series up to date, after starting starting yesterday, and it has been amazing. One of the greatest TV shows that I've ever seen. Anyway, at one point earlier in season two, Pycelle had a scene in which he was going on and on about I forget what, to a whore after presumably having sex. After she leaves, he stands up and does some uncharacteristic stretches and moves around the room. As soon as he is about to leave, he stoops down and resumes his usual frail stance.

So what's going on? Am I missing something? Thanks.

He's merely playing the game. The game of thrones. The pretence of frailty and senility dissuades possible suspicion and makes him seem more trustworthy and sympathetic; it's his greatest guise.

It's also important to note that Pycelle removed his chain to have sex. Maesters are expected to wear their chains at all times, so him eschewing his duty, and also being the Grand Maester at that, makes him extra sketchy.

Although he still couldn't fool Tyrion!
