Gattaca is a sci-fi movie that takes place in a universe where the privileged humans are born genetically modified to vastly improve their chances of success. The movie follows Vincent Freeman, a man born unmodified by eugenics who attempts to become an astronaut despite his handicap and societal discrimination.
Trivia:

The exterior of Vincent and Jerome's apartment is that of the CLA building of Cal Poly Pomona, California.
