The sequel to the original Ghost in the Shell (1995). The post-cyberpunk story of Innocence is set in 2032, when cities are inhabited by cyborgs. Batou and his partner Togusa must solve a mysterious case of a cyber-hacker who uses specially designed dolls in his crimes.

Trivia:

This is the first ever anime film to be nominated for the Palme d'Or in the Cannes International Film Festival in 2004. It is the 6th animated film to enter the competition at Cannes.
