G.I. Joe 2's International Trailer Basically Admits It's Just Revenge Of The Sith Again

There's a few new clips in the above international trailer for G.I. Joe: Retaliation, which apparently hit the net yesterday, and they all basically confirm to me that this movie is basically just an update of Episode III: Revenge Of The Sith, albeit probably with a slightly happier ending. I mean, c'mon: evil politician hides his own evilness, claims the good guys were attempting to use their power for evil, uses it to justify killing them all except for a few who hide out, band together, and attempt to put things right?

You know what? I'm willing to ride with that, provided that Channing Tatum isn't in it for very long.

@WilyBoy: cmon this does look like revenge of the sith except with less child murder.

Wasn't this also the plot for the A-team movie?

The entire MI Team has been disavowed, along with the Jedi and Jason Bourne. Action movie storyline rehash is nothing new and will continue for like forever.

I'd rather he reach around GI Joe 2 than more innocent puppies.

Maybe Revenge of the Sith in the idea that the trope of the good guys being betrayed by a manipulated public has been a stable of action cinema but Revenge of the Sith exactly maybe not. That said if the Rock becomes a cyborg at the end I will be quiet please.

Who really cares? It will be terrible just like the first, yet still some how make money.

I didn't care about the first one, but I'm definitely seeing this.

It's amazing. By himself, the Rock's movie career is not the best. Yet adding him into other movies - Fast & Furious, Journey to the Center of the Earth, GI Joe - seems to improve things immeasurably. Bizarre.

Bruce Willis?! Fine, I'm in. And Channing Tatum is just cockney slang for Jason Statham.

: What's the point of them listening to feedback, killing off the original cast, fixing all the costumes, and getting a new/better director and writers when people like you are just gonna ignore it anyway? Stop being negative; this looks so much better than the first, and a heck of a good time.

There's a little thing called "fool me once, shame on you; fool me twice, shame on me." Perhaps you've heard of it? GI Joe was one of the most rancid moviegoing experiences of my life. They couldn't pay me to watch this one.

I have to wonder if perhaps that story line may have been used even before Revenge of the Sith

The Rock and Bruce Willis? The casting alone has me oddly intrigued. The first one was so bad though...

Say what you will, the man's got charisma for weeks. It's why he's still headlining blockbuster's and Vin Diesel (who I actually think is a really fun actor) can barely scrape together enough to get his passion project made.

Killing off everyone from the first movie is a great way to acknowledge how bad it was.
