G.I. Joe Retaliation which was supposed to be released on June 29th has been pushed back nine months to March 29th, 2013 so it can be converted into 3D and take advantage of a more relaxed release schedule to accommodate for international markets.

Honestly, the first movie sucked, but everything I've seen of Retaliation seemed pretty cool. I am genuinely disappointed by this. Strike one less movie to see this summer. Does anyone feel the same?

I was really looking forward to seeing this movie this summer. I hated the first one but this actually looked decent.

That's a LONG time to wait. I wonder after seeing Battleship make its budget back and Avengers doing to the same all on international markets if they just decided to do the same.

Wait are you fucking serious? No seriously WTF you mean they are really doing this...really. Fuuuuuu IGN has the story so it must be real...but this was going to be a fun movie this summer. It was right under Amazing Spider-Man for me. I thought Hollywood learned that post converted 3D is 1. shitty 2, doesn't appear to add any substantial increase in box office. I wonder if they have been testing the movie and it is bombing bad so they are throwing the 3D in there to try and make a quick buck.

I is sad.

I'd put the blame on the asshole Avengers and their record breaking profits. Post conversion is back in style now.

@MrMazz: 3D is still big everywhere else besides North America. China is a burgeoning 3D market.

@RockinKemosabe: well damn. It probably doesn't help Battleship has bombed here for the most part. When is China not a burgeoning market for anything?

Wow. And here I though only video games were all being bumped to 2013.
