I like the show. It's true that it's not much more than a watchable version of High School Musical with better music and less people singing but I just enjoy the music. Even when I didn't like the original version of the songs they were singing I enjoyed their interpretations. I'll stick with the show, though I have to agree with Alex that S02E01 wasn't too outstanding - just average.  

Once our economy stabilizes, (probably won't ever happen), then these types of shows will parish. As long as Gaga still finds a way to make music then I'll be happy. 

 Not the best episode, but a good kicking off point for a new season.  Glee seems to do its big season-ending plot episodes and the filler episodes well, but exposition / transition plot always seems awkward. 
 
Though the show reminded me that I think it's the best use of an ensemble cast since early Office.  Brittany (dumb blond cheerleader who isn't Quinn) might be my favorite character, even though she only gets about five lines an episode.  Just perfectly delivered and timed every time.  Obviously the show gives the best comic actors their moments to shine, but they make fairly good use of the rest. 
 
Also, I love that for a show that exists in such a surreality of random singing they also poke holes in the fourth wall constantly.  The message board intro for one, but Sue's bashing of the background dancer types that pretty much never get lines were good as well.

Thought that the gang reacted to what Rachel did very mildly. It was farther than I thought she could go. Rachel always struck me as a entertaining mix of diva/self-doubter, but this episode threw that out of whack. Kinda ruined it for me.

I've never seen one episode of glee...and don't really plan to, however I would like to say Dreamgirls music is pretty GREAT, however I FULLY agree with your standing on that HORRENDOUS Billionaire song
