I loved this movie. Rented it on demand and watched it 4 times. Amazing.

Thanks for the heads-up. I've been meaning to check it out after the groundswell of great word of mouth pretty much across the board. It felt like one of those movies that sort of came and went, without a theatrical release, but after positive reactions maybe it has a chance of turning things around. I'll definately make watching this a priority. Anything of note it reminded you of?

The best Slap Shot type movie since Slap Shot. Really good movie, and Sean William Scott and Leiv Schreiber are both really good in it.

I'm pleasantly surprised at the good word of mouth for this movie, because honestly the trailers made it seem terrible.

Actually, I will say that Jay Baruchel, as the comic relief, is utterly terrible. So unnecessary in this film, I guess the only reason he's in it is he helped write the thing, I guess.

Rented it and absolutely loved it. Saw it twice! Great action, great laughs (from a great cast and filmmaking), and great heart. Classic in my book. Also, Seann William Scott, among his other respectively amazing cast members, fucking kicks the shit out of his role- I'm proud of him, and everyone involved in this flick. I am probably the only person who loved Jay Baruchel in his role, mainly because it's different from his normal repertoire, and he's such a fantastic piece of shit here.
Red Band Trailer: Goon

I have to confess: the idea of Liev Schreiber as a hockey enforcer is an enticing one to me. This trailer serves to re-enforce that idea, so to speak.

Trailer 2: Goon

The movie the NHL doesn't want you to see! I, on the other hand, don't particularly mind if you want to see it. Looks completely standard in a way that might be surprisingly fun. We'll find out On Demand in February!

Trailer: Goon

Sean William Scott and Liev Schrieber star as rival hockey enforcers in this rather violent looking comedy. Schrieber's mustache/mullet combo might be worth the price of admission alone.
