It's Time for a Reboot! |
|
I'm not a big fan of Green Lantern. He's sort of a missed opportunity to find better light instead of making a movie. This is the worst and most disappointing movie from Warner Bros. and DC Comics. I find the film boring, a slap-in-the-face to comic book geeks, and I think they should've listened to Sheldon's funniest comic character quotes on The Big Bang Theory.
You know, I wish if there is one actor who could eventually play Green Lantern is James Franco. I love him in X-Men First Class as young Magneto and Rise of the Planet of the Apes. Ryan Reynolds wasn't a good choice, but on the good side, he did well on movies like Buried, The Proposal, and Safe House. But donning a superhero in a green ring-shaped cape is not the type of role you want to be in. If they want a Green Lantern sequel, they'd better erase Ryan Reynolds and release it straight to DVD.
Here's a lesson for DC Comics:
1). Find a good superhero or a group that is willing to go all the way in a really good movie (not Jonah Hex, not Catwoman, and not Supergirl/Batgirl)
2). Don't let a superhero movie bombed at the box office.
3). Try to make the script and the setting of the movie a raw and alternative look. (Any Vertigo/DC Comics movies, anyone? I'm up to it.)
So I don't even care if we want a Green Lantern sequel. If they're making it, that's fine. But I want a reboot! No foolishness, no dull sequences, just make with the reboot!
