I have to say that in the run up to Grimm's premiere I had almost completely dismissed it. In suppose I've been jaded in recent years to almost totally disregard any program shown on major network television. I've burned by the Heroes and The Event's of recent years. After the first two episodes of Grimm I have to say I have had my faith somewhat restored.
A show based on the premise that a cop discovers he's a part of a secret society of monster hunters named "Grimms" who hunt mythical monsters that were immortalized two centuries ago in fairy tales designed to subtly warn the world about them. This could have easily turned into some Charmed nonsense but so far they've managed to keep it entertaining. From the menace of a "Big Bad Wolf" kidnapping a little girl and locking him in his basement, to a group of the "Three Bears" capturing people and hunting them in a ritual coming of age, the show has been shockingly dark and raw. For example one of the nominal good guys ripped a man's arm off tonight.
The show has some melodramatic flaws but so far I'm enjoying it greatly and it's probably my new favorite program of the fall. So, has anyone else watched Grimm and had similar feelings or am I the only one?
