This is one of those movies that I wanted to write about because I remembered enjoying it, then watched it, and kind of realized that it wasn't all that good. Live and learn!

I have never seen this, I may have to give it a look

Right on, Rorie. Though you forgot to mention... the female love interest was really hot.

@organicalistic_:  No, not really.

Over the years I keep seeing this and meaning to check it out, half because I'm a fan of Dick and half because it looks so straight-to-small-screen shabby.

the screamers reminded me of the man hacks in Half Life... at least the noise did.

Forgot that Roy Dupuis acted in this movie. He is a very popular actor here in Canada (especially Quebec) now and seeing his work here was nothing short of mind-numbing. Good thing he didn't stay with this type of movie for long.

I watched Screamers 2.  I'm not proud. Or tired.

"The Good: Peter Weller The Bad: Everyone else!" -Made me laugh!
This was one of the films i wanted to watch as a kid but never got around to it. Finally saw it last year and yeah, it's not that great :(

Why did I think Ben Affleck was in this movie? What movie am I even thinking of?

EDIT: After looking, the film I was thinking of was "Phantoms" (also a real turd).

I kinda liked Screamers, but it's really not a good movie.

Waiting for a mash-up of that scene with the kid-screamer, and Rorie's many stabs at "IT'S BEEN A LOOOOONG ROAD". Certainly would be more haunting than the Generic SciFi Noise(TM) all the robots make..

@SpiritOf: Awww man, you're totally thinking of Phantoms
Organicalistic_on March 3, 2011 at 7:05 p.m.
@Rorie: If I don't watch bad ones I will loose sense of which ones are not good and may.. well.... go insane, so to watch it I go.

Yep, the film where Ben Affleck plays a Sheriff in a Colorado town filled with dead people.

I remember really liking this when I was younger. The concept was interesting. But like Rorie said, it probably doesn't really hold up to watch again.

the pair of legs taking a step before falling over was pretty good
ryanwhoon March 4, 2011 at 2:06 a.m.
Peter Weller is always worth watching. Cronenberg is always worth watching. This movie just happened to come out at an impasse in technology so it looked dated the very day it came out.

I would put Screamers slightly on the positive side. It's a watchable movie, and Weller is good in it. And I remember how the world felt used up, when usually sci-fi worlds are pristine and perfect.

WOAAAH!
Hold the phone!

Is that Lucas from "The Wizard?"

BTW, Rorie, you should have spoiled us and done a 15 (or more) minute video on all the bad Dick movies.  There's a whole lot of bad Dick out there.  Actually, just do a 2 hour video on the WORST sci-fi films.

PS - Are you guys going to be at SXSW film, by chance?
