A bafflingly bad conclusion to an otherwise stellar trilogy, Spider-Man 3 is definitely only half-good.
Video posted by JoeyF on Feb. 21, 2012
Peter Parker is forced to contend with Sandman, Venom and his old nemesis Harry Osborne, all the while dealing with the curious powers granted to him by a mysterious black entity and his relationship troubles with Mary Jane Watson. Life ain't easy for a superhero.

That half-good title card is going to take some beating.
I have a theory on the emo stuff. Peter was a massive nerd in high school. He was very introverted. When he was infected by the Venom symbiote, he felt the urge to act out, and didn't know how to do so. But, every time I see Toby Maquire dancing, I disregard this and yell into a pillow.
@ZZoMBiE13: two was just boring. I really wanted to like it, but the fight scenes were just bland, and the drama was terrible, with parker quitting being spiderman and the relationship troubles.
no, I don't read comics, but I loved the old 90's cartoon
spiderman 3 was just a blast up till the last 30 minutes, where is does fall apart
the first spiderman is the best one. it had all the right elements, with good drama, likable characters and a great finale
Anybody else see the disconnect here? "A bafflingly bad conclusion to an otherwise stellar trilogy, Spider-Man 3 is definitely only half-good." A bafflingly bad movie is half good? What movie isn't "half good" according to Rorie, apart from the movies he thinks are all good? Didn't he just get through explaining how the abortive Star Wars prequels were half good?

Bafflingly bad in comparison?

Are you coming from a so bad it's good, standpoint?
No way in hell anyone thought emo Peter Parker was cool or scary or intimidating. He was goofy and weird.
i hate this movie with a burning erection, i mean passion. I remember coming out of the theater thinking it was the worst movie i had ever seen and still subscribe to that sentiment. Emo spider-man is just too much.
When I watched this movie in theaters it was literally so FULL of stuff that sooner or later my brain winked out and I stopped caring about any of it.
Half good? You optimist, you.
Rorie's conclusion was pretty perfect. The only way I think he would have been more animated is if there was a puppy in the movie. Then it would be Emma Stone and the puppy, featuring Spider-man
This is definitely the worst of the three Spidey films by a large margin, but at least it gave us this treasure.
I remember watching this at a cheap second-run theater, and the film literally burst into flames about 10 minutes before the end. I wasn't that annoyed.
I'd have to say the first one is a better candidate for "Half-Good" as this one seems more like it's "One-Fourth Good," but it's always awesome to see video features on Screened!
And yeah, after this monumental crapfest, I can't believe people were pissed that they were going for a reboot. I've said it before: Raimi was never the right guy to write/direct these movies.
"Spider-Man 3 is only half-good."
That's being mighty generous. That movie is a crime against man and God.
"...embarrassing Mary Jane at her place of work..."
Are you kidding me? He "embarrassed" her? Did you forget that he also hit her?
I almost walked out of the theater on Spider Man 3.
Looking back now, I wished I had.
Makes me wonder what this movie would of been had sam raimi not been forced to shoehorn venom into it by the studio
While Emo Spidey was pretty rediculous it's funny seeing all the women who pass by on the street look at him in disgust. I acknowlage that it's not the best in the trilogy but it's still enjoyable to watch.
If you wanna put things in perspective, Spider-man 3 is a lot better than X-men:Last Stand and Batman & Robin on the scale of worst superhero movies(atleast IMO).
Rorie usually brings me around on these half-good movies but not on this one. This movie was just so terrible at points.
I remember seeing the first Spiderman film and hoping that the series would live on long enough to get to Venom. Seeing as Venom isn't really origin story material I wagered that it would at least take two movies before they could make him the villain.
So the third movie was announced with the black spidersuit being shown and I was really excited. In retrospect, I would have easily waited another two movies if that would mean that they could've done it right instead of it becoming the mess that Spiderman 3 wound up being.
