Robin (Dick Grayson) and Batman discuss about the six Justice League members that went missing for an unaccounted sixteen hours while under the Lights control. (This picks up and recaps where the season one finale left off in Auld Acquaintances)

Gotham City January 1, 16:16 EST Five Years Later

201 - Happy New Years

Superboy is trekking through the sewers, he pauses when he sees a clump of mud on the floor. As he examines it, Clayface manifests behind him and engulfs Superboy's body. Miss Martian exits her camouflage abilities and uses her telekinesis to release Superboy from Clayface's grip. Miss Martian calls for delta squad and Robin (Tim Drake) suddenly dashes from behind and throws electric batarangs at Clayface. While Clayface is distracted, Superboy manages to throw some sort of pill into Clayface causing him to harden and freeze. Superboy thanks Robin for his distraction, and then Beast Boy, Blue Beetle and Bumblebee all arrive soon after. Miss Martian calls the cave via radio and informs Nightwing (Dick Grayson) that their mission was a success.

Mount Justice January 1, 18:18 EST

Lagoon Boy and Nightwing are in the midst of training when the team arrive back at base. Mal Duncan arrives to greet Bumblebee, but she tells him she has plans to meet with professor Ray Palmer and dashes off. Lagoon Boy welcomes Miss Martian back and the two embrace and kiss, much to the annoyance of Superboy. Robin informs Nightwing that Clayface is back at his cell in Arkham City but is interrupted by a message from Captain Atom who alerts them of a threat at New York. Mal Duncan and Nightwing tells Captain Atom that Beta squad is near and will be there shortly.

New York City January 1, 18:23 EST

201 - Wonder Girl and Batgirl

The intergalactic bounty hunter Lobo barges through a police line to reach the secretary general. Lobo is haulted by Wonder Girl and Batgirl's arrival. Batgirl tells Wonder Girl to hold off Lobo while she escorts the secretary general to safety. Wonder Girl attacks Lobo but he dismisses her and throws her off the side continuing to chase the secretary general. Batgirl uses a smokescreen to evade Lobo just long enough for Wonder Girl to return to the fight. Lobo manages to subdue both girls and proceeds to attack the secretary general. Lobo grabs him and tears him in half revealing that the secretary general was a robot being controlled by an alien all along. Lobo captures the alien and says that his contract is done and leaves. Leaving Wonder Girl and Batgirl stunned at what has happened...

New York January 3, 17:06 EST

G Gordon Godfrey televises the events that has just transpired to the public on his newscast. Cat Grant reports outside the Hall of Justice to see if they can get any answers from two of the newest Justice League members Zatanna and Rocket but does not. Godfrey continues to spill out Justice League conspiracy theories trying to discredit the League.

201 - Wanted Criminals

Zatanna and Rocket arrive at the Watchtower while John Stewart is briefing about Lobo and the aliens known as the Kroloteans. Martian Manhunter introduces a scientist named Adam Strange to the team. Adam Strange is responsible for the zeta tubes that the Justice League use to travel around. Strange explains that while he was doing maintenance on the zeta tubes, he was transported to a planet named Rann where he learns that Kroloteans were using zeta tube technology to invade multiple areas on earth. Captain Atom suggests a two pronged attack, part of the league will raid the multiple targets that the Kroloteans beamed to while another group of League will go straight to Rann and stop the invasion at the source. Adam Strange interrupts Captain Atom and says that six members of the Justice League (Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, Hawkwoman, Martian Manhunter, and Green Lantern John Stewart) were wanted criminals in space. This prompts Nightwing and Batman to believe that his is where the League went missing for sixteen hours. Captain Atom then says that they will send different Justice League members to Rann, but Strange tells him that the planet is on alert for every member of the League now as well. Nightwing informs Strange that not everyone is a Justice League member and says he can send his own team to Rann to investigate if necessary. Captain Atom agrees, and Nightwing, Miss Martian and Superboy leave. As they leave Rocket and Zatanna come up to them and tell them that they still have open invitations to join the league if they wanted to but Nightwing and the others decline.

Mount Justice January 4, 20:00 EST

At the Cave, Nightwing briefs the rest of the team about the plan to hit all the Krolotean zeta locations simultaneously. Their mission is to destroy any and all zeta platforms and rescue all humans that may have been abducted. Nightwing splits the team into squads and assigns them each a target. Nightwing tells Robin that he will be the leader of Gamma Squad. Robin feels uneasy as he has never lead before, but Nightwing offers him some advice and tells him to get his feet wet.

Philadelphia January 4, 22:55 EST

Alpha Squad team consisting of Nightwing, Wonder Girl and Sphere.

Vlatavastok January 5, 05:57 EET

Beta Squad team consisting of Batgirl, Bumblebee, and Wolf.

New Orleans January 4, 21:59 CST

Gamma Squad team consisting of Robin, Lagoon Boy and Blue Beetle.

201 - Team Gamma

When Gamma Squad arrives at their location, Lagoon Boy is disappointed and feels that Gamma Squad always get the uneventful assignments and locations. Robin relays to base that the team is in position, and Mal gives the go ahead to proceed with the mission. Robin and the team find nothing of interest, but Mal is confident that a zeta tube is there. Lagoon Boy then checks beneath the waters for any signs and surely enough the team finds a tube with many Kroloteans. Robin tells Mal that they found multiple zeta tubes and more Kroloteans than they can count. Mal tells the team to lay low and that he will send backup. Blue Beetle interrupts telling the team that they have been spotted.

Back at the cave, Mal Duncan is receiving more reports from the various teams.

201 - Team Gamma

Gamma squad are forced to fight and are struggling. Blue Beetles flies overhead and uses his sonic blaster, the krolotean sees this and immediately retreats. Blue Beetle strangely is able to understand the alien language. Blue Beetles says that the Kroloteans have ordered a retreat and to set the base to destruct in four minutes. Robin thinks back to what Nightwing told him about being a leader, and decides that they still must search for any human captives. They find a prison cell with some prisoners and Lagoon Boy uses his strength to free them.

The base explodes and goes up in flames, but everyone makes out in time. Shortly after, the rest of the Justice League and Young Justice teams arrive. And Nightwing smiles and congratulates Tim for a great job for his first mission as leader.
