The First Five Minutes Of Haywire Are Painful...In A Good Way

I have no idea if this is going to work for you if you're outside America, so apologies if it doesn't. Anyway, if it does work, enjoy the first five minutes of the film Haywire, launching next week. It's been high on my most-anticipated list for a while now, and although the jury's still out on Gina Carano's acting ability, Soderbergh at least has the good sense to pair her up with Channing Tatum for the first scene, which includes a fairly brutal little fistfight. It's kind of funny to see the fight divorced from its music-heavy trailer incarnation; things just seem a bit more real without music backing them up.

The complete Carano/Fassbender fight was shown at Comic-Con, and if the film can find room for another half-dozen or so action scenes of similar competence, we should be in for a fun little ride next weekend.

It works in Ireland.

Why did she rack the slide of the handgun when it had already been fired twice?

If I saw Channing Tatum walking into my restaurant, I'd have the same reaction.

After the "You don't have to take my word for it" line, I couldn't help but hear the Reading Rainbow jingle in my head.

agh, that window shot with the car pulling in look TERRRRRRRIBLE.

That's one of the best fights I've seen in a movie. Doesn't look like a choreographed piece of shit like every other fist fight in a movie ever.

OH FUCK

Goddamn this film is going to bring it!

I feel watching pieces of a movie before release lowers the overall "wow factor" of seeing it for the first time. I already know I'm going to see Haywire, so I'm won't be watching this clip. I'm sure it's good though.

This film looks it's right up my alley.

I don't want to see another frame of this movie till I see it in theaters, that was brutal hope it can keep it up all the way through.

Refreshing lack of shaky cam or hyperactive editing.

Man, that fight took me back to the fights in The Bourne Identity. I like that.

@Martin_Blank: My guess would be to make sure there wasn't any sort of easily remedied jam in the chamber.

Damn, this could actually turn out to be a great one. Carano also looking hot as always !

I officially hate it when a character says "shit" to themselves. Use some facial or body expression or something!

Not going to lie, that was pretty badass. C. Tate's got beat!

But... but I do the same thing...

Trailer 2: Haywire

This trailer is punchier than the last one. I mean that both literally and figuratively.

How great is it that when Steven Soderbergh wants to make a Big Dumb Action Movie starring Gina Carano, he manages to get Michael Douglas, Ewen McGregor, Michael Fassbender, Bill Paxton, and Antonio Banderas to come along for the ride?
