Heat fans really need to check out Michael Mann's first film Thief, starring James Cann. In many ways Heat is a remake of that film. It carries over quite a bit of the plotlines from that movie.

I showed this movie to some friends of mine and they HATED it.  I could not understand why.  I just have to believe they are cultural Philistines who don't understand great cinema when they see it.
