Georges and his wife seem to have the perfect life. Geroges hosts a popular literary talk show and his wife works for a successful book publishing company. They have a beautiful town home in Paris and enjoy hosting dinner parties for their friends of similar fortune. But underneath this perfect facade, their marriage is on the rocks. They barely talk to each other any more and Anne has been spending a lot of time with a family friend without Geroges' knowledge. Both of them barely pay their teenage son any attention.
One day though, they discover a video tape on their front porch accompanied by a crude and disturbing child-like drawing. The tape is a long shot of their house from across the street which leads them to believe someone is watching them. Gradually more packages show up on their doorstep with increasingly disturbing drawings and more and more intimate footage of Georges and his family, including one of his childhood home. After going to the police and being turned away because the tapes don't constitute a direct threat, when a new tape shows up with footage directing Geroges to a specific apartment, he decides he has no choice but to follow where the tape leads him to discover who is sending the tapes and why.
