In Hot Fuzz, legendary by-the-book police officer Nicholas Angel is transferred to the seemingly peaceful town of Sandford, where he must work with Danny Butterman to uncover the mystery behind the "accidents" taking place in the small town.

Trivia:

Robert Rodriguez scored a few sections of the film. Direct Edgar Wright points out on the DVD commentary that he agreed to contribute music after only seeing a few scenes from the film out of context.

Reference: Straw Dogs

A citizen of Sandford and a cast member of the town's "homage" to Romeo and Juliet is said to have been an extra on this film. Also, the character called Mr. Treacher is named after the siege of Treacher's farm which was in the book on which straw dogs was based.
