In Italy to promote it's opening on 600 screens in that country, Christopher Nolan spoke to reporters and let a detail slip that set the Internet and Twitters ablaze yesterday.
No further details past that from Nolan."We are looking at doing is developing a video game based on the world of the film, which has all kinds of ideas that you can't fit into a feature film. That's something we've been talking about and are looking at doing long term, in a couple of years."
I, personally, loved Inception, and throughout the film I couldn't help but shake the impression that much of it is rooted in video games. The whole concept of building these dream worlds is level design, and particularly when Ellen Page's character has to build the worlds within other worlds, culminating in that snow fortress level with a ski-assault, it seemed a very obvious homage to video games. So, this is just pure speculation from my part, but if they made a game where the player can be one of these level designers, as well as the person doing the mission within that level, it could be a VERY COOL game. In the hands of the right studio, an Inception game could be incredible.
