One of the reasons to see a film in the theatre is to get the social interaction with other cinema goers, At leaset that's how I see it,

How did your audience react to it?

At the end of the film my audience, as if being let go from a vice grip, all inhaled and had a low sounding exhale, it was pretty intense,

Oh and word to the wise, taking a small toke and watching the film first time is ill advised, I didn't take a breath for the whole entirety of the hallway scene, incredible.

Mine was a pretty sparse audience, but I did get a nice collective groan when the movie cut to black at the end.

I also liked how, when the movie began there was a bunch of theater noise--people shuffling around, slurping drinks, eating popcorn etc. By the second half, everyone had gone completely silent.

The theatre I was in had the exhale though it was mixed with a few exasperated expletives. Definitely more than one 'Fuck!'

After the sound of the audience I said aloud, holy shit, and had a few laughs at that, such a good fucking movie.

Everyone in IMAX clapped at the end, and so did I. Loads of people stayed in the lounge and kept on talking about it. No one wanted to leave.

@Red12b:  The exhale goes for my audience, lots of laughter throughout, especially during Tom Hardy scenes.

The ending had a definite Awwwwwww.

Also, when the Juno Girl and other dude kiss there was a bunch of laughter.

I am ashamed to admit that I applauded first when it ended. That I clapped at all was extremely uncharacteristic for me, that I clapped first... truly shameful.

There was no audience reaction whatsoever throughout the whole film...

I saw it with my dad and his only comment was "Well that's bullshit."

My theater was full and it was amazing to see the people after it, there were a few nervous laughters but most of the people looked like they were in shock (kind of wide-eyed and silent). The movie was awesome and the reaction of the people at the end was priceless.

Yeah, there was that sort of reaction at the end in my theatre as well. 'cept the "Aw man, what the hell?" part.

There was no reaction.  The movie ended, and everyone started making their way out of the theatre because the movie was over.

I actually heard people booing but the crowd in the theater was pretty much made up exclusively of fucking idiots. A lot of people were laughing at the constant shots of the van falling, which was really annoying  and for some explicable reason, some people were cracking up at Joseph Gordon-Levitt floating around the the hallway.

I haven't really ever witnessed a whole audience reacting to a movie's ending. On my first viewing it was just quiet, tonight I heard an "Oh come on!" in English which is interesting considering I'm in Finland. Other than that, a few claps and collective relieved laughter.
