I've seen the movie twice now and it's brilliant but the questions i have weren't answered the second time around.

I need to hear answers from other people so that i might finally be able to clear up these loose ends so i'll only say it one more time.

****************** SPOILERS ******************

1. Saito, so he ended up being stuck in Limbo for a very long time, and he never tried to kill himself till Leo D asked him to honor the arrangement that's fine, but what is the state of his mind at that point?
He's lived in a dream world for 30/40 years yet he remembers what the arrangement was, what phone number he needs to dial, what to say, who to talk to... where is he going to go after arriving in america in the real world?
2. When all the kicks happen at the end they end up in dream number 1, the chemists dream, how do they get out of that one? that's the same dream where earlier Leo D said that killing themselves would send them to Limbo because of the heavy sedation.
Which brings me to
3. What is with the sedation? Falling sensations wake them up, that's not how sedatives work, are these drugs hypnotizing them or sedating them in which case they arn't really sedatives... also are we to believe there's nothing wrong with having heavy drugs pumped into your body for 9 hours?
4. I've been on a plane multiple times in my life and through each of the flights i've felt falling sensations every minute, i'm willing to let this one go because it's more of a personal thing that i'm willing to ignore.

1: Saito may not have known how to get himself out of Limbo. He was just in it and waiting to die. Leo getting there reminded him of what he once was, and this brought back all the memories so that when he woke up, he would remember everything.

2: Good question. I was wondering that too. They could probably have just cut the sedation on the machine to wake them up in the real world.

3: It's explained in a quick line from the Chemist that he's modified the sedative so that they wake up from the falling sensation, but for the big dream sequence for Fisher, it needed to bea simultaneous kick in all the levels for it to work.

4: You can probably let that slide as a personal thing. I don't get that on a plane.

How can anyone find this film confusing?

The questions i have are fairly minor, don't you think?
They are more like niggly details.

The first time watching certainly. Mainly the beginning.

The movie just starts. No explanation of anything that is happening in the first 10 minutes or so.

@HandsomeDead:  I certainly think it's within the realm of possibility for people to find it confusing. There are a lot of layers to it.

 1. I think he just remembered when he woke up.
2. I assumed the timer on the machine in the real world simply woke them up after the kick.
3. This seemed like a sort of silly movie explanation.
4. Thats probably a personal thing, although I wondered what would happen if they met some turbulence.

Thats what I think anyway.

@Rorie: At first, perhaps, but I'm not seeing how the film is the mindbender everyone seems to think it is. It seems that with the blockbuster bar set so low, something like Inception is seen as mindblowing when it's just that it's a standard movie in the Michael Bay summer slot.

I didn't find it confusing, but the start is certainly pretty bewildering. It throws you straight into the thick of the plot, with dreams within dreams without any explanation of what's going on or giving any context to the whole tapping into peoples dreams aspect.

I think it can get confusing if you dig deep enough, I mean it's obviously not possible to do this... I appreciate the movie because it just asks you to accept that "shit just works, okay?"

I'm sure there are plot holes in there, I just don't care to find them.... the shit just works.  Plug the thing into your arm and dream.

Certainly not as crazy as something like Twelve Monkeys.

@HandsomeDead:  Hmm, I definitely think it's open to more interpretation than anything Bay has ever done.

@Rorie: Of course, but outside the fact that it's a big budget summer movie that isn't based on an existing IP, it isn't anything particularly special and I feel people seem to be blowing it out of proportion because of the external factors rather than what the film itself actually is.
