It's difficult to say what the legacy of Inception will be. As a big-budget, non-sequel, non-licensed film, it's a rarity in Hollywood, but if you're Warner Bros. and you want to keep Christopher Nolan happy and making Batman movies, kicking him $150 million to make a dream project (literally) is probably a wise investment. It's hard to know if its success will encourage other studios to bankroll similarly risky projects from their in-house auteurs, but I suppose we can only hope. 
 
Regardless of what it inspires, there's no denying that Inception is a damn entertaining movie, even if it doesn't appeal to insufferable children. As such, it's an easy choice for the next episode of The Screening Room, even if it's not on Streaming. If you don't have a DVD copy of it, track one down or add it to your Netflix queue, as we'll be watching it next Wednesday at 4 PM!

It takes a lot for me to want to hit a child, but I want to punch him hard... in the face... with a bat... with spikes in it. That's not really a punch is it? Too harsh? I submit to you all...

My dad went to watch this with his girlfriend and her daughter. The lady's big takeaway from the movie? 
They couldn't stop talking about how good looking DiCaprio was. 
...but at least they enjoyed it?
