A dream come true |
|
I've been waiting for a decent movie for quite a long time, Inception was the answer. It seems Hollywood is stuck in billion dollar profiting movies: avatar *cough* twilight *cough* *cough*, and breath-taking films are slowly disappearing. After watching the ''A Team'', I discussed with my friends how movies which mark you, are sadly declining. The funny part is we mentioned ''The Dark Knight'' as one of those movies that can really make you feel thrilled. So at least Christopher Nolan is really making the difference at Hollywood with his movies.
I should also mention that I find dreams and the subconscious to be fascinating topics. And lately, I’ve been thinking a lot about them and reading articles such as the real function of dreaming or how the subconscious can affect you in making some decisions you wouldn’t make otherwise.
So, after successfully evading every single trailer and Inception forum on the internet (It wasn't easy at all) I made it to the movie unspoiled. (THEY DIDN’T RELEASE THE MOVIE SIMULTANEOUSLY WORLD WIDE!) Quite indeed, the internet has been a freaking spoil land for Inception ever since it was released.
Anyways, from the first moment the movie hits you with paradoxical situations that you add up partially as the movie moves on. I say partially because the first scene is a bit harder to get until you reach the end. Hence, at the beginning this movie is mysterious and fascinating. As it moves on, I got immersed in the idea of the movie, and I almost felt as I was also in that dream.
This movie is aesthetically rewarding in all manners. The visuals are amazing and the parts in which they play with gravity and other physicals laws are quite a shock. The landscapes and cities are quite breath taking in some situations.
The thing about this movie, is that Christopher Nolan plays with something we all are familiar with: dreams. Dreams are part of everyone. Hence, this movie gets a hold of that and attaches you to the storyline.
Leonardo DiCaprio was also amazing here. His acting was pretty good, not as intense as in ‘’Revolutionary Road’’ (great movie), but still good.
The ending was completely fulfilling. Hans Zimmer has a part in this too. His soundtrack is, as always, a masterpiece. As the ending came closer, I felt as I did when ‘’The Dark Knight’’ ended, amazed. I haven’t felt like this in a long time. I’m glad there are still ‘’A movies’’ that try to impress its audience.
