EDIT: :( Andy Lau turned the role down to spend more time with his wife and kids. Great for them, but a real pity for us.

Cinemablend reports here that Chinese super-star Andy Lau is wanted by Marvel Studios for Iron Man 3. They say the role is that of a scientist ally of Stark. I think this would be awesome. Please tell me you agree.

I don't know who this guy is, but I'm always glad to see more asians getting bigger roles in films. I'm always disappointed when movies exclude asians even though the original source material or country includes asians.

@Acura_Max: I agree that there need to be more Asians in films. But what is more is this guy is awesome. He is a martial arts legend and a great actor as well. See Detective Dee for proof.

the report said he would play a scientist ally of Stark and that the primary villain would be played by Ben Kingsley with Guy Pearce as a possible secondary one. They might have the Mandarin, but I doubt it is going to be Lau. It could be--the might be setting it up for him to come as the primary villain in a sequel--but I doubt it.
