Part of a wave of "eroti-thrillers" penned by Basic Instinct writer Joe Eszterhas, this film shows the consequences that occur when district attorney David Corelli (David Caruso) begins an intensely sexual affair with psychologist Katrina Gavin (Linda Fiorentino). Katrina is the suspect in a murder case that also involves a well-connected prostitute called Jade. William Friedkin of Exorcist and French Connection fame directed.
Trivia:
Linda Fiorentino initially turned down the script because she didn't want to play a prostitute. She changed her mind when her character was changed through rewrites.
